A Journey of Transformation
Growing up in Altona, just north of Toronto, I witnessed my father's transformative journey. He experienced profound changes from rural to urban living, shifting faith dynamics, and a changing moral landscape. Our community underwent significant shifts, with people dispersing in various directions. From full houses to empty nests, and wealth to financial struggles, my father witnessed the ebb and flow of life's circumstances.
Embracing Challenges
My mother, a remarkable leader, and businesswoman, played a pivotal role in our family. In 1981, we faced foreclosure, but she took it upon herself to repay all our debts, including a substantial one owed to Claremont Co-op. Despite being in their mid-60s, my parents opened our home to children in need, providing care and creating lasting memories. I can still recall my father drawing inspiration from his surroundings as he shared captivating stories with his granddaughter Rachel, featuring Leo and Miss Kate.
Bringing Robert E Lewis' Story to Life
My desire to share Robert E Lewis' story (Misty Meadow Memories published June 2023) through his poems and pictures has now become a reality. I reflect on his profound understanding of God, Jesus, and the transformative power of the Holy Spirit. Although Robert Lewis has passed away, his legacy lives on within these pages, inspiring readers with his wisdom. It has been over 20 years since my mother's passing, yet I hold onto the hope of a future reunion.
The story I share is real, the poems resonate with truth, and Robert E Lewis' wisdom echoes that of a humble farmer who found solace in the scriptures. These experiences have shaped my perspective, and I am grateful for the journey that has led me to this moment.
